Get ready for some laughs and heartwarming family drama! CBS is cooking up a new multi-cam comedy called Auntie Supreme, and it sounds like it's going to be a fun ride. The show comes from the creative minds of writer-executive producers Gloria Bigelow and Christy Stratton.
The premise? It revolves around a life coach whose carefully curated, child-free life gets turned upside down when she unexpectedly becomes a co-parent to her nieces, alongside her brother-in-law, a busy father of three. Talk about a lifestyle change!
Adding some serious star power to the mix, Cedric the Entertainer and Eric C. Rhone will also be executive producers, representing Bird & The Bear Entertainment. Allegra Newman rounds out the team as a co-executive producer.
But here's where it gets interesting: Bigelow brings her experience from four seasons on Bob Hearts Abishola, where she climbed the ranks to co-producer. She also has a background in stand-up comedy, with appearances on shows like Showtime’s Fierce Funny Women.
Stratton, on the other hand, is an Emmy-nominated writer and producer with credits including Modern Family and Raising Hope. She even spent seven seasons on King of the Hill and co-wrote the series finale. Her short film The Runt has been making waves on the festival circuit, potentially even making a run for the 2025 Academy Awards.
And this is the part most people miss: Cedric the Entertainer is a major player at CBS, starring in and executive producing the hit sitcom The Neighborhood, which just wrapped its eighth and final season. He's also involved in the upcoming Tracy Morgan spinoff, Crutch. He's a busy man!
What do you think of the premise? Does it sound like a sitcom you'd watch?
